Anyone used one of these ?
Have been concerned about my emissions for a bit, tried tackling prob before and thought I had it.
My bus has been running fine but bit smelly.
Bought one of these in bootsale yesterday did have yellow flame, now blue, haven't taken it for a run yet.
On the box cover of the one I got it said
" save a gallon of fuel in every 10 used"
That's what made me buy it and after looking up on line seeing the price of sale being £60 - £80 for such a small device perhaps it really does work

That takes me back !!
My Dad used to have one to use on his Mk2 Cortina in the 70's.
Note the A series engine on box cover.

Re: Colortune
I have one and used one in the past. Dubious about the mpg claims. It is effective in letting you see the lean or rich condition of individual cylinders. It would simply confirm what my ears and timing light/rpm guage are telling me.
Fun but not conclusive.

Re: Colortune
I used to use one in the 70's for my bikes also! Still managed to burn a hole in a piston when a carb went out of tune on a 200 mile run. Are they really that price now?

Re: Colortune
I've been tempted to get one, just so Im not faffing pulling a plug or two every now and then to get them looking OK and adjusting the O2 screw til the plugs look right.
I've also been tempted to get a wideband sensor and gauge instead as my exhaust has the bung for one.. but they are double the price of the colortune..
Gas analizers seem to be just as expensive..

Re: Colortune
I had very good results with them in the late 80's and early 90's.
It was also much easier to use than any other tuning device at that time.
I was never a trained mechanic. Just a young novice petrol-head. It was just based upon a subjective opinion of the flame colour... whitey-blue, orangey-yellow - lean, rich.
