Thanks, I wouldn’t do it if I wasn’t getting paid for it [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]
Put the interior back in with a few improvements, customer’s very happy apart from the fact he can’t use it for a while!

Hi I’m doing the same job on my camper just a quick inquiry how did you manage to get the the gutter to flow seamlessly, because the repair panels are straight.
I’ve done one side and I cut along the gutter about halfway so I was left with outer gutter where the trim fits did the same with the repair panel then weld along where the spotwelds are then power file the welds smooth, it’s take much longer but was the only way I could see it not looking like 3 straight panels welded together, also the repair panels have to be messed around with where the roof braces are.

I think it’s just a case of doing whatever you need to do to make it look right, they are straight panels at the end of the day so a bit of tweaking as always.T25boy71 wrote:More pictures
Yours is looking good, thankfully the roof rails seem to be quite resistant to rot and the gutters are almost sacrificial!

Re: Rusty hightop gutters +
I am in the process of fixing the rusty gutters on my van and look at your post regularly for inspiration. My hi top is bonded all around to the top of the van except for half way up one edge and across the front where the rust seems to have separated it. I was wondering the best way to separate the rest so I can lift the top? Any pointers would be good as I am not sure right now on the best method!

Re: Rusty hightop gutters +
You can use a Stanley knife on the mastic bonding start where it’s already separated cut in to the mastic Don’t try to right throw do it In slices along the masstic and gradually work your way round
PS Good GLOVES is a must .
Good luck.

Wow! This is impressive.
As a newbie to bodywork, how did you treat the body before painting? Did you rub down the entire vehicle?
Also, I will have to take my hightop down to paint soon? What did you paint it with?
