What wheels for my T25
Hi,
I am looking for some alloys for my T25 and was wondering what size would be ok.
I have seen some second hand wheels with the following details.
5 x 112
15" Diameter
ET 42
Would these be ok on a T25 High top 1.9 1983 petrol?
The guy selling them said he had them on a Syncro using spacers.
Thanks

Re: What wheels for my T25
All right buddy
When I looked at changing my steels for an alloy alternative I found a huge amount of confusing info unfortunatey.
You'll also need to do a wheel stud conversion front and rear. I used 65mm length and a new set of wheel nuts to suit the alloy (tapered or bull nose)
Some basic requirements I determined which 100% work are.
Stud pitch 5x112
Stud hole diameter m14
Centre Bore 66.6
Rim width 7j
Rim diameter 15
ET 30-35 (using a 7j rim I went for an overall ET of 30 i.e. in your case ET42 + 10mm spacer = ET 32. I went for an ET of 30 which I found was the same as a factory Carat alloy.
Load Rated rim
Tyre size ? (I used 205x65x15 load rated 104)
All I can say is all of the above works and fits really well. The alloy I went for is a Borbet A which pop up for sale now and again on fleabay.
Cheers

Another factor to remember when using after market alloys is you may need to extend the sliding door hinge to clear the rear wheel.

All of the above wheel dimensions etc etc fit perfectly so no rubs or scrapes on the suspension or door etc.

No offence taken my duck, just didn't want the poor chap thinking he'd have to sort his sliding door out as well with the wheel dimensions I'd posted

Re: What wheels for my T25
On mine I have merc 16 inch alloys. ET33, they fit straight on without spacers. Just need to fit longer studs and the vw nuts are the right size.
So all I had to buy was:
10x conversion studs for front.
10x standard vw nuts for front.
10x longer wheel studs for rear.
The hardest bit was fitting the new rear studs because I had to take the hub off to do it which involves taking off the big axle nut.

...and then go and buy some 16” Mercedes Tolimans’s because they fit and look ideal.
Or better still (IMO) buy some nice 16” Mefro Steelies which need no mods at all

Oo that's my van. But not mefro, they're mercedes steels 16". I've a thread somewhere about buying them from eBay Germany for cheap and cleaning them up. No modding, just the correct new bolts and nuts for the Merc 12mm ball seat profile.

So I know it's posted above, but I don't understand exactly what parts I need and why: I have a set Of The 16 inch Merc wheels as in the picture above, so what do I need to do to fit them? I currently have the standard 14inch steel wheels on.
