The only question i have, and this may seem stupid, so bear with me, my van was lowered from the factory (as a Vanagon Carat) - which I believe some of the top spec euro T25's were - are these still the right ones?

Sorry

James

Should be fine, i'm sure it's only the springs that differ.
If you want to double check, click the ask a question tab on the link. But i'm 99.99999999999% certain they are the right ones

Cheers lloydy I thought that would be the case.

Being an American van it has had some of that American love of customising everything - rear shocks are not original for example. Taking out the van more now we have had the engine reconditioned - and starting to found out the other probs. To be expected and all part of it - went out last night and the van handled like a pig - quite clearly the shocks are, er, shocking.

Thanks again for the advice

Shocks don't set the ride height. that's the springs' job.

shocks determine the ride quality.
the trade off here is a stiffer shock means better handling and a choppy ride.... a softer shock will give a better ride but the van will roll more on sharp corners.
Adjustable shock absorbers from manufacturers like Koni offer the user an ability to change the ride

what's the colour code on your springs?
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)

Hi Kev

I haven't checked to be honest - and I have non original shocks on the back - they are white and obviously knackered. I've gone for the shocks from Brickwerks - they arrived today.

I'm not that bothered about changing the ride - or have super expensive shocks - just working ones, good quality that get the van working. Obviously I may change my mind later on :)
