I am struggling to find some main bearings for an early 1.9 (one piece thrust) wbx.
The crank is std, case is 0.5 and thrust is std (I think it's 21mm)
Any suggestions where I can get these main bearings from?
Where can I get early 1.9 wbx Main Bearings?

I assume you've tried Brickwerks? They have most parts for gearboxes.

Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately the Brickwerks website only seems to list bearings for later engines (and not in the size I need)

In that case try Aidan Talbot, he's a font of gearbox knowledge.

he wants early engine parts; they may be nla from anywhere now, VW would modify early cases to the later bearings when they rebuilt them I think if the case was reuseable, but they may have just thrown away early cases I don't know - Ian Silverbullet is more au fait with wbx parts availability; vw themselves last built wbx engines over 10 years ago now in Poland and sold the last ones over 5 years ago and parts have been drying up quickly since
sales @brickwerks with part numbers and if they can be had they will get them but they may not be

I know next to nothing about the early DF etc.
I am only working with the later suffix B cases so I wouldnt know where to look.
Maybe the same as late Aircooled parts?

Ive just fitted an early set from vw heritage standard size on a 2.1 crank. AS long as the engine case hasn't been bored oversize at any point these are all available at heritage with undersize journal varieties also stocked. If the case has been bored oversize then you will need to try a machine shop to see if they can get some or get a different case. coolair have standard ones in stock also.

Thanks for the replies.
VWHeritage and Coolairvw don't currently have any in stock and aren't expecting them for a few months.
So unfortunately I have made the decision to have the crank ground to 0.25 as these are the only bearings I have been able to get hold of.
Cheers
