Which material for bed?

Post by Emma&Al »

I bought a massive bit of foam and cut it myself to fit the rock n roll bed. Im having a massive dilemma as to which type of material to use that will be hard wearing, not horribly scratchy on your legs and still cool enough to look good!

Where has everyone got theirs from?

Thanks all Emma :)

We recently did similar and used basic material. So far we don't know how it will look in say a year, however, by using cheap material we have found it slips round the edge of the foam, if that makes sense? It has been sewn very well and fits the foam tightly but needs readjusting to sit nicely. Not sure what material to use next time but will make do with this till we can afford new foam and something better. Maybe upholstery vinyl. Jon.

Thanks for your input John - I found some plain upholstery material on ebay which says its similar material to what is used on settees - looks good and hardwearing but is around £7.50 a metre and Im guessing I might need around £80 worth. I suppose thats okay, although I've not compared it to other prices.
