My mother was shown how to do it donkey's years ago by a re-upholsterer when he cut some foam up for her - he used an electric carving knife also.

im re-doing mine at the moment and happened across the video...better than the bread knife attempt I had a go at :run

I used to do it with a Stanley knife, which makes a right pig's ear of it, until I was told about the electric carving knife. (Just don't tell 'er indoors what you have been using it for! :D )
