Tuff Torque Steels
Hi
I've been a member of the forum since 2009 when I started my search for a T25 & & after lots of near misses I've finally got one
I'm looking at various wheel options & have come across some 15" Tuff Torque steels on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314413973333?hash=item4934887f55:g:RB8AAOSwKo5j9I4b&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8BiXJZCj0Cey2NUtWaN1gJcoty2DkDSR0UxJNdzOktKJVoy2NLGJ8znWXYEy92rx5TSt0M2if%2FtukwHB5dWcVS8euFvW7SgB1EWmwL2SRvdlGFMxujFwyKn%2F0Hi0eIauRbZC%2Fcb2G7ULLhYpdLY1%2BZn7FGTTH%2Bn4WOAvdTB3NKWAoKgL0F0fClH42O9IIyTzaCTnE5Swzu8RX9R0N%2FPXE%2FefUyMAkA8wpbnG16gpUL9H4NwUniIXmoY9HxgZE6gJbT5w49cxrsWcELeZFPp2AdKZPheqg4T%2F0OJ0Gf%2BqH0RBpYgV4rlfGEDK8XdT51wIeg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6C1ifrKYg.
Plenty about Mefro, a bit of Magnetto etc but I can't find anything on here about Tuff Torque.
Has anyone got any experience of them?

No, but they look ideal. Good find.

Re: Tuff Torque Steels
Recently bought a set of five , happy with them, but they don’t have lugs for hubcaps, so might be using wheel trims instead
Re: Tuff Torque Steels
About my comment on wheel trims, it’s true that they can be had for considerably less than any thing genuine vw, but (imho) they all look a bit naff/chav. Getting a decent looking set is the problem.
I wonder if anyone on here know of decent looking set of 15 inch trims, preferably black or at least dark , and that don’t look plasticky bling?

Re: Tuff Torque Steels
What about something like these:

You could remove the Merc logo with a dremel and stick some VW emblems in their place?

Re: Tuff Torque Steels
Can't you use centre caps from something like a Caddy?

Re: Tuff Torque Steels
Well, yes (apart from. Merc logo) if the five stud thingies have the correct DTC then I suppose they will fit and stay on via clipping to the wheel nuts, but I am thinking about wheel trims that cover most of the wheel , clipping into the outer rim .those are the ones I have accused o being a bit chav like

Re: Tuff Torque Steels
Those types can look cak, my lad bought some Vito steelies for his T4 and has both the Caddy type centres and some VW ones that completely fill the middle 'hole ', may not look so good on our vans admittedly.

Re: Tuff Torque Steels
I think these are just the same as the "mefrolikes" sold by the usual t25parts places. Mefros were not exactly a premium wheel but put one next to one of these chinese ones and it's incredibly clear which is which! The welding and alignment of the seam in the rim, sloppy linishing etc. Cheap and cheerful.
Not bad for £49 each though, I'm half tempted to have a set to put some summer tyres on at that price.

Re: Tuff Torque Steels
I'll maybe hang fire & look for something a bit better quality. There's too much choice!
Re: Tuff Torque Steels
Well, as I said, happy with mine, they are good enough quality for what I need, depends on what you want to pay. In my experience, paying does not always equal more quality
