1Z timing belt change interval

Post by ZsZ »

I am in a dilemma. As per title. To change or not to change? Last change was done 5 yrs and ~40k kms ago. Before I read a 5yr 60k kms interval somewhere.
The only info I can foind now is 90k kms (60k miles) with no years given (AUTODATA) . Is the 5 yrs count, so change or just leave for the next 5yrs?
:)
The motor donor is a Vento, but I run a 11mm mechanical pump and ~1.2bar boost if it counts.
THX!

There’s a few belts that have no recommended times for change , just look and access, it’s pretty cheap to do versus repair after failure, my jx cam belt is about 15 years old, went to change it yesterday and still looks perfect :?

Yes Autodata says to check it yearly or 15000kms.
But what wear is to look after?

BTW 90/15 is 6 years. Then it is probably due next year.

look for any cracking in between the teeth as they are the weakest point on the belt, as for me i would be gearing up for a changing it and the water pump as it becomes very accessible when swapping over a timing belt and tensioner,
