Fitting longer rear studs
I have got myself a couple of rear hubs with standard studs and I was going to fit longer ones and then replace my hubs, I found removing the studs fairly straight forward using a ball joint splitter and was wondering if anyone had ever pressed in new ones using a similar method as I don't have access to a press I was thinking this might be an option?

Go to your local friendly garage that you use, smile sweetly and ask to make a contribution to tea boat.
It's a job that takes ten/fifteen minutes.

I would try to use a large long reach socket slipped over the stud and use an old wheel nut to pull it into the hub if no access to a press

Winding them in with a wheel is not acceptable.

I have a pair of totally f***** rear hub flanges at work, "fitted" with long studs. They are actually wavy, and I dont mean by a few thou' either!
I imagine they got in such a state by someone struggling to fit the studs by the "pull 'em in" method.
Considerable force is required to fit aftermarket wheel studs, the knurling behind the head is a lot coarser than that on the original studs.

Forgot about them, they came from the Danish Slambulance I bought and broke about three years ago IIRC.

I do believe that the BW shop pages for wheel studs do have a word or three to say about correct fitting

i Removed and refitted my studs this week , white overhauling the rear trailing arm , when i came to refit the studs i poped the stud in the hole
using the wheel nut tighted it as far as it was possible to pull it in , the took the hammer to the back side and hammered it all the way in , pretty easy

Just re read the instructions on the Bricwerks page and if I read correctly it says you can hammer them in?

Nobody said it was difficult. The problem with this method is it comes with risks.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?
