torqueing wheel bolts with power bar
wanted to torque up wheel bolts with power bar. usually i would get the power bar at about 2pm and then push my weight on it and lift my feet off the ground a few times to tighten up, then listen for the creaking sound of the bolt to be sure it's really tight. can you over stretch wheel bolts or is this good insurance to do them by hand with a long power bar? cheers.

Re: torqueing wheel bolts with power bar
Buy a torque wrench and do it properly...
factory setting is 127ftlbs..
all your weight (depending on how heavy you are is prob a lot more than 127 ft lbs... on the end of a 2ft beaker bar...
Rear hub nut.. thats a different story...

Re: torqueing wheel bolts with power bar
just an update for anyone else. beam torque wrench out, well worth using. just as van starts to rock in gear with handbrake on. I use power bar to get bolts off but can be definitely too much for tightening. hope it helps. thanks all.
