Etch primer then filler or vice versa....?
Hi All I'm doing some rust repairs to my van over the winter and my question is when ive welded in a patch and then want to use a skim of filler to blend it in, is it best to prime first and then filler, or filler first then prime? In other words filler onto bare metal or not...?

Hi all thanks to the reply in my previous post about gear oil in the cv joint ive now replaced them and decided to do the rear wheel bearings too while the shafts were off, so far so good. My question is regarding play in one of the gearbox output flanges, I'm guessing about 1mm in the vertical plan...

Gear oil in CV joint
Hi I'm looking for advice, I'm replacing the CV joints on my van 1990 DG, because the outers were noisy. When I removed one of the shafts a quantity of gear oil came out of the gearbox output flange where the joint fits in along with the driveshaft bung and the inner joint was full of gear oil. Do I...

Re: VW T25 DG Engine Stalling
I had the same problem recently. It would run fine when cold (i.e. on choke) but when warm would cut out at every junction and traffic lights but would always restart or I would keep it rolling and bump start it. As per the last reply it dawned on me must be a weak mixture since it was fine on choke...

Oil cooler
Hi I would like to fit an oil cooler to my 1.9DG for longer motorway trips especially abroad. I planned on using a thermostatic sandwich take off plate, and there are one or two options. Whats the best one to get and what are the fittings i should get to fit in the tight space there? Its looks like ...

Re: Changing hoses and bleeding breaks
This is a job I also plan to do. Where is the best source of OEM flexy hoses - I'm not keen on braided ones?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: gear problem
Removed and refitted slave cylinder with new bolts and brass nuts last summer, and freed off bleed nipple. Nothing wrong with it but just wanted to make sure I could change it if needs be. Heeded usual good advice on this forum, wire brushed fasteners and soaked with Plusgas for several days beforeh...

Re: 1.6td oil change - suitable pump?
I have the Pela and now 4 years old never had any probs with tubing or anything else.
Never used it for my VW 1.9DG for me, for that, its much easier and quicker just to get underneath.
