Re: Wobbly swivel seat is MOT failure
OK we're all measured up, I've got CAD geometry and working on the machining sequence (to avoid ending up with something that you can't hold for the last operation) Reckon that a full seat set of 4 + 4 will be about £40.
Yes, a bit dearer than the originals but we're machining a few at a time from solid material, not injection moulding thousands per hour with thousands of pounds worth of tooling
When we've got the prototypes, we'll do a test fit on syncroand101's westy before ploughing on with a batch.
More later.

Was good to meet the other week, just let me know when you are ready to test fit

Re: Wobbly swivel seat is MOT failure
Progress! We've now got a basic blank for the 20a, just waiting on the post for a cutter to put the "barb" on the pegs, then work out how to nest them together to minimize waste (which looks like quite a lot in these shots)
Hoping to produce 8 or 10 at a time to save my elbow changing tools!
Then it's on to the 20b which is a little more tricky 'cos of the peg in the back...

This has come out a bit dark (turn up your screen brightness!) but it's a first off

Spot the deliberate mistake...
NO, it's not that they're white.
Clue:count them!
How many required per seat?

Re: Wobbly swivel seat is MOT failure
A good end to the day! I made a small batch of 20a's last week (got slightly carried away and have 10 seat sets finished + another 10 sets part-worked)
20b's are now coming off finished so we'll have a trial fitting (Jake!) before the final OK and put up a pic.
They are in white copolymer (aka delrin, not black as per original - like it matters ) so should be slightly harder wearing than the original nylon ones - machining nylon parts this small is not amusing!
I reckon that we can do them at £40+vat per seat set of 8 parts. Post is free - we recycle envelopes!

Re: Wobbly swivel seat is MOT failure
And here are the 20b first off's (should start using the part number but we all know what we're on about!)
Will put up another couple of pics showing them fitted to the swivel, when Jake drops in.
Now:to get back to making those Double Square headlight lens protectors proving a bit trickier than expected...
