No, thats the beauty of this. You can do sections at a time, as and when You'll just need to mask at suitable places.

At least that makes it slightly less daunting

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
I'm really impressed, thanks Ralph for sharing all this.
I did the doors first to see how I got on then did the rest of the van two weeks later. I've still got the lower rear area to do as it needs more prep work (and rust treatment).

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Hi,
I've been trying to download the pdf from the downloads page, but keeping get failed message, is anyone else getting the same message? I can download other sections, just not the 'Body' section. Alternatively, does anyone have the pdf they could send me?
Thanks,
Peter

Hi all, has nobody else had a problem downloading the 'Body'' section from the downloads page? Would appreciate any help in getting a copy of it. Thanks, Peter

Its not a detailed PDF. You need the DVD for that.

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Hi all,
I've started the process for painting and getting on with the prep and need to remove the fuel filler surround, but it won't budge, just wondering if anyone has any tricks for getting this out. I can see it should rotate and pull, but I can't shift it with the limited leverage I can get. Currently thinking to just buy a new one and cut the old one out.
Funny how there always seems to be something else to prep!
Cheers,
P

Chances are, you will have to buy another one. I am faced with same problem although in my case I'm replacing area around filler completely so will just tin-snip my way to it.

I managed to get one off by tapping it gently from the back with a hammer & punch on one of the locking tabs, it rotates anticlockwise from memory. Also used plenty of WD40.

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Im now thinking of painting another T3 with roller but with different paint, one i used on the blue one is somesort of industrial/ship paint. After few months, it still looks good but is very easily chipped even tho i did many layers. We do not have rust-oleum here (except for spray paint) so i need something with similar properties that is sold in europe?

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Managed to get the fuel filler surround off OK in the end, but found a nasty looking seam behind it! Van is now pretty much prepped except for last bit of fine filling on side door, which is proofing v hard to get perfect. Only bit of trim not removed is the windscreen washer nozzles, do they just pull out? Or is there a knack to them as well? First coat going on tomorrow!

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
What paint to white spirit ratio do you guys recommend in this weather?
Hoping to do my poptop roof tomorrow. Not too fussed about a blossy finish as there are a lot of contours and so never going to be perfect.

I'd say 10% and if it needs a fraction more. add some. You can mix in roller tray if need be.
As for washer jets - just mask them off.
