Hi all,
I've recently purchased a 1986 Holdsworth fitted with a subara legacy 2.5 (the sound put a smile on my face immediately). It has been undersealed and the paintwork is in pretty good condition for its age with no visible rusting, bubbles or nasty seams. It has been kept indoors for the last 10 years and was used only occasionally.
I'm a real believer in using my vehicles so want to get the most out of driving it. However, I don't have inside storage. I live in the Somerset countryside and have hard standing but no shelter.
It's likely to be in use 3-4 times per week but unlikely to be doing more than 30-40 miles in that week. Once the weather turns warmer mileage will increase to about 800 miles per month.
What suggestions / recommendations would you have for keeping it in good condition?

Just realised this is in the wrong forum, apologies. If one of the admins could move it (or let me know how to move/E D I T) to general chat that would be great. Thanks

Hard standing is a good start as it will keep it out of the damp ground. Do you have a location in the lee of a building? So it isn't bearing the brunt of the weather?
If you could build a lean to carport that would help.
There are some fairly substantial self erect canopies too
I had my bus under a Just Kampers heavy duty cover years ago. It required regular fettling and adjustments to counter the weather. Better than nothing but not a longer term solution.

A good going over with carnauba wax will help.

Thanks for the advice. I have something that could give some level of protection. Maybe it's time for a car port.

Don't put a cover on the van unless it is nice and dry. Obvious really but you want to keep moisture out rather than in!
