Distributor Identification 'AZ20J'

Hi there - wonder if anyone could help me identify the manufacturer of my distributor body which is a non standard contact driven (ie non electronic), non vacuum . Looks like a 009 style but clearly isn't Bosch. The marking on the side says AZ20J
I'm hoping to put some electronic ignition within the body in but am nervous about forking out if for some reason it's not the correct Bosch spec (am loathe to fork out on a new dizzy to tbh!). I also want to keep any installation as simple as possible.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A picture or two might help as Google doesn't have anything for that code; are there any other identifying marks etc...

Sounds like a Chinese copy distributor, pop up some pictures, they usually take stock vw parts

An 009 distributor is the cheapest, but not the best for these engines,,
If you are happy to go with a points and condensor setup:
or if you want to go electronic:
Straight forward and inexpensive.
Carry the necessary spares!!

Thanks all for engaging with this. I'm guessing a *cheap* copy of an 009 definitely isn't the best for the engine either
and thank you for the videos. I'd still like to post a picture and bottom the thing out. I suspect the cap and body are different manufacturers. Thank you!

the cap is a Bosch (or clone)
distributor looks like maybe
very cheap on Ebay
an older one probably or one that the sticky label has come off

Have you got a type 4 Aircooled engine ?

Yes indeedy. Type 4 as I understand - it's certainly a CU stamped engine,. do you have some smart dizzy recommendations. Am thinking of going back to an SVDA distributor with an inbuilt electronic ignition now. No idea why the original electronic ignition was removed unless previous owners got tired of replacing the ICUs which I hear do burn out

At the risk of being seen as picky, the CU is 2l, the water cooled is 1.9 or 2.1.

Thanks all again - I'm now of course descending into a complete rabbit hole about which distributor I should be going for as a replacement.
I'd really appreciate some advice at this stage to save a costly mistake - and of course don't worry I'll be getting advice on timing too in due course.(!)
So - I have a 2l CU Aircooled engine which clearly had the original electronic ignition at some point. It seems to have an 009 dizzy copy currently.
If I wanted the nearest equivalent to its stock distributor with contacts which would have had SVDA, what should I be trying to buy and what would have been the equivalent Bosch number (or abbreviated number) please?
PS have amended my signature to the full 2litres - my bad!

Oh that's a really kind offer David thank you but I'm now sorted - I've bought a Powerspark dizzy 034 type with electronic ignition and coil as well. Thanks to all who responded again.

With vacuum advance too?
The type 4 distributors slightly different running an advance and a retard too
