1.9 petrol WBX fuel lines

After seeing several fuel related fires on social media I am thinking of upgrading my fuel lines to copper front to back. Is there anything “off the shelf” or will I have to piece it together myself, if so what is the best size pipe bore to ensure smooth running. Currently don’t have an electric fuel pump but am also thinking of fitting one at the same time.

Vintage cars used copper as a matter of course, complete with attractive curly bits as an anti-vibration measure. Plastic is simply cheaper.

Brickwerks sell a nice kit (when in stock) pre-assembled:

Brickwerks Part No. T3-201DG-FEED

^^ match the i.d. of this if going copper.

dont be tempted to run rubber from the tank to the engine bay , or you will be replacing the lot in 2 years when you should only need to replace the rubber at the ends of the solid lines

The fire risk is generally arising from ethanol in modern fuels not being compatible with old type fuel hose and causing them to fail

Have a read of this, fit the right stuff and you don't need to replace fuel lines every year
