I have a D2. It fires up and blows hot air, but is stuck on full power. Also when turned of it seems to be running the cool down cycle but smokes from the exhaust.
For some reason I can't get the controller to show any fault codes, it just doesn't go into diagnostic mode when I press the buttons.
I have changed the controller for a mini controller but that hasn't changed anything.
I'm hoping it isn't the ECU.
Any ideas?

Did it ever work? Mine is run through a rheostat, if you dont have this as well as the controller will it ramp down? As it doesnt know the temp you want it might stay on high burn, or has your controller got a temp setting as well?
Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

Yes, it has worked but intermittently. Both controllers have temp control.

Have you got the blue/white wire wired to the controllers? You won't get any diagnostics without it. Similarly is the grey/red wire wired to the controllers? Likewise no heat control without it.
Have you checked the continuity of these wires and are the pins fully home in their plugs?
Smoke on cool down is not unusual as there can still be diesel that isn't ignited remaining but smokes when it hits the still hot exhaust.

Re: Eberspacher help please
I finally hit round to having another look. It turned out to be a broken connection on the brown and white wire. Thanks OBG!
I need to find a couple of these connectors. Any clues to what they are called?
