Most fit them under the R&R bed, mines in a side cupboard where the Propex was. And you only need a small bodied 2kW for our climate.

Re: Where to mount an eber in an Aircooled
I always fit eberspáchers under the glove box, out of the way , where you can’t use the space for anything else , easy to get to , easy to get power to and really easy to fuel to , weather you use the spare wheel to hold the tank or run fuel line from the engine bay
great for defrosting screen too
not sure if the Chinese ones can mount 90° tho

Re: Where to mount an eber in an Aircooled
Has anyone tried to retro fit one of these chinese heaters In the original eberspacher location under the R and R bed.
I'm thinking of fitting one and I'd like to try and bot cut holes in the original woodwork.

Hello,
Air-Cooled here...
I went the underslung Eberspacher route
https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... berspacher
This was fitted in 2016, and replaced with a chinese copy in 2018.
Like this it saves interior space and reduces noise.
Works for me....
Cordialement,

A bit late to this one...
But we fitted a new webasto in the original underslung box, and used all the original air vents so no cutting "pooh" up.
It all worked very well, and the only clue that it isn't the original heater is the control panel inside. And that it works.

My tank sits inside the spare wheel, it's a normal fuel can with a hole drilled into the cap to take the fuel pipe. I used a bike spoke attached to it to ensure the pipe reached the bottom of the can. I used a can like this.

Sorry Geoff didn’t see your reply ....
Pictures not very easy to take , but you get the idea
I had a 12 litre tank made up from Stainless to fit in the void infront of the tail light cluster

Is there a reason people are not taking a feed from the main fuel tank?

Re: Where to mount an eber in an Aircooled
If you are fitting a Diesel heater and have a petrol engine you can't. And you can run the Diesel heater on cheaper Red Diesel or Kerosene home heating oil @ around 60p per litre.

Ah, ok. I have petrol so bought a petrol heater... Saves a lot of pissing about with another tank. And diesel is bloody disgusting anyway, so didn't want that anywhere near my van.
Does anybody use a heater enough for that fuel price difference to be significant?
Horses for courses I guess.

Re: Where to mount an eber in an Aircooled
It is more you can get new Diesel heater kits for between £80-£100, plus Diesel/Kerosene has more energy than Petrol so you burn less per kW. Camping in the winter I can easily burn 20+ ltr of Kero a week.zoona wrote: ↑30 Oct 2020, 08:58

Re: Where to mount an eber in an Aircooled
Wow, didn't realise they use that much.
We use it in the winter here too, but only for weekends - so only a couple of nights at a time.
I also don't trust knock off systems, do went with webasto which gave me the petrol option.
Thanks for info.
