Hmm... that's interesting! That's the wire I usually cut to put the relay in series to break the feed to pump & injectors. It's the way I suggested to Steve a few years ago when I was installing for him, so your conversion might be even older. How is your petrol switched off?

The conversion was carried out in 2006, so is fairly old.

Why , just why would you ground a connection onto a plastic relay bracket when there is earthing point within 2” ??

You are going to need to clean all those "earthing" connections up anyway in your fault finding process

That's exactly what I couldn't believe, earthed onto the plastic cover. I was going to sort it out but got dragged away. Could it be that relay that's causing problems?

How do all, just reviving an old thread as I seem to having a similar problem. The van has failed to start on a couple of occasions the problem being the fuel pump is only getting a couple of volts of power and it'll will also refuse to start when trying to force start on LPG. I'm under the impression the the wiring for the LPG system maybe at fault, could the power be getting shut off when it shouldn't? Not really sure where to start when it's on the gas side, so any pointers will be appreciated.

It’s so long ago your pictures have evaporated from the thread ??

Poor earths would be my guess , or green nasty non conductive connections in the plugs / connections ?

Your probably right with poor connections and earth's, I need to start making things shine once again. It's just the way my LPG install has been described as far from ideal in a previous post, doesn't fill me with confidence and even removing it would be far from straight forward.

Yes i understand that , but its really very basic, and if its true to form, all the negatives will be onto one point to the body for the lpg system , and all the positives will run directly back to the controller in the dash , hopefully without joins along the way .
Rewiring it wont actually be a massive job , as daunting as it may seem , should you need to totally redo it

Nice one, thanks for the information. Hopefully I'll be able to just work through everything and replace with new.

Argh yes…. Well there is your bunch of all the negs for the lpg system right there in the left of that picture i recon , that would be my starting point , making sure there is no corrosion there , and bare metal to contact to
