Hi,
I'm trying to set up my timing and have a question.
When the engine is turned over, the arm doesn't spin round, even though it's fully seated in place? It seems to have done it since I tried to move the dizzy body, have I moved something out of place.
Cheers

Re: Rotor Arms
The distributor had lifted and no longer engaged in
The distributor drive, you need to push the distributor down and turn the rotor arm until you feel the drive engage , then tap it a little more down to ensure it’s fully seated

Re: Rotor Arms
I seem to remember a warning about lifting the distributor and a bush/gear/worm or something getting misplaced.
I don't mean to put an unnecessary downer on it but anyone know what I am talking about?

Yes but that can only happen with the distributor fully removed and the engine turned a few times
Re: Rotor Arms
Cheers.
The engine hasn't been turned over without the distributor being in place so hopefully nothing too bad has happened.

Hi,
With the improved weather, I'm going to have a look at fixing the engine.
Hopefully, I've not inadvertently turned the engine over with the distributor in the wrong position, If I have done that can you get the distributor back in the correct place?
