Hi, anyone know how the fuel consumption compares between a 1.9 DF AND DG engine, thanks

Every Type 2 (T3) does ~20mpg regardless of engine

CS - 35 to 40 mpg.

23.27 on lpg from a dg. That’s over the last 30 fills.

Dg - 19-22mpg @ 65mph

Agg - 22-26mpg @ 70mph

if you listen here anything from 15 to 25 ,

im surprised none of the diesel fantasists have jumped in with their 50mpg claims yet ..... ( its not that they do 50mpg, its that the miles take much longer so they burn it much slower)

Hi, thanks for replies+ Always liked to believe I got about 25 mpg from my 1.9 wbx DF ( have run it for 12 years) ,probably wishful thinking! Might have to change engine soon so wondered if I had a second hand DG installed,.78 bhp,I would get slightly better fuel economy? Cheers 1983/84 westfalia joker poptop!

19.9 mpg average over last 9000 miles
1.9 DG Auto
