Extra large petrol fuel tank?

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Extra large petrol fuel tank?

Post by spanishfly »

Just removed the rusty fuel tank from my Dehler to fit a freshly painted new one courtesy of BW.

Finally had both tanks in the same place and offered up the new one only to realise it was atleast 30 cm shorter than the one I've removed?

Presumably there was a long range option for 2.1's back in the day? Or the originals were bigger?

Did you take a picture of them? Wouldn't have thought 30cm extra length (or width) would fit between the frame rails?

I can see I'm going to have to drop the new one and post a photo of the two side by side. Rectangle vs square!
A friend suggested South African tank? Would make sense......?

I squeezed 90 litres into mine last week. My South African bus takes much more fuel then the German one.

i quite like the idea of extra capacity. Are SA spec tanks available in the UK?
Ultimately, are we not all air cooled?
