Oil Pressure Relief Value and oil filler tube
Hi
I think my oil pressure relief value is leaking a bit see photo below- I was just wondering how I go about replacing it. I think I would need to get parts numbered 14 thru 17 on this diagram https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/typ+ ... -10005/#17
Also I am planning on replacing my oil filler tube- any tips for this job would also be appreciated. I was wondering if any studs are likely to snap?
It is a 1.9 DG

Re: Oil Pressure Relief Value and oil filler tube
Would recommend you to clean the area around it and make sure it leakes before you do anything.
If I remember correctly it's a bit hard to access one of the nut if your protecting tin and water hose is in place.
Is your oil filler junction between the metal and plastic sections broken? Or why are you replacing it? I don't think I seen one not fixed with a pice of hose and clamps or tape

oil filler studs don't usually snap, one nut very hard to get to this is what I do, the square bar is from a door handle.

Re: Oil Pressure Relief Value and oil filler tube
you only need the washer , no point changing the rest unless you have oil pressure issues.

When replacing the filler tube do you need to add any sealant or similar to the gasket.

I add a smear of sealant but you probably don't need to if the surfaces are properly cleaned.
Re: Oil Pressure Relief Value and oil filler tube
So I finally got round to doing these two jobs the oil pressure relief went fine. The oil filler tube was not so smooth. One bolt came of fine the other harder to access didn't it brought the stud with it. I was just wondering if anyone has advice. At the moment I think I have two:
1. options refit the stud like a bolt or
2. try and source the correct size stud will an Allen key drive not sure where I would source this from any advice would be great.
something like this although not sure if there is anywhere in the UK that sells it or what size I would need? The thread on the engine block seems fine.

Thanks again

Re: Oil Pressure Relief Value and oil filler tube
I tried to refit the new oil filler tube using the old stud and nut but due to the tight space this wasn't possible so it looks like I am going to need to get a new stud. I think it is M8 x 1.25 and is about 3.3 long would one of these be suitable: https://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/A2 ... at_M8.html
