Shame about the MOT, but as you know, this isn't a restoration. How long before you have it sorted ?

I've started on the grinding and welding, doing the tricky bit first around the front right JP and sill.
Hoping to get it all finished this weekend as it looks like I'll be doing more runs to Lauder and more exploring Scotland in it this year. (with company. :P )
I'm missing being able to use my mate's garage, lying on your back under the van grinding and welding is no fun. Having the pit and being inside made life so much easier.
Oh well, sparks in the beard and up the sleeves it is then.

:ok
That sounds like good news.
Re the welding/beard interface, I’ve never seen longer length welding masks either, but you could try pop rivetting a bit of leather on... ?
Have you ever seen an unhappy fool?

So I ordered the stickers to spruce up my rear badges... my van is a late one so I ordered late stickers.... forgetting that I have an early tailgate.
Can anyone tell me the difference between early and late badges?

Then.... I took the badges off to give the van a blowover with the spray gun, the Transported badge was a bit out of shape and I snapped it trying to straighten it. Doh!

So... options?
Do I replace both with late badges? Will they fit in the holes? Anyone got any they'd sell me?

Or...
do I need early badges to fit the holes in the early tailgate. Ditto.

Or...
Should I just cut the broken badge so it reads "Sporter"? Haha.

I thought somebody would ask the question so I took this pic.

looks to me like late badge was not given new holes as it has double sided tape holding the LHS on

Cheers for the pic and links Itchy. :ok
Mine have that overhang too which is why it got out of shape.
So I have early badges that my late stickers won't fit. :(
But I can fit late badges. :D they look nicer anyway.

Thanks Multisi. :ok
I'll have a think about which way I'm going and get back to you. :D
Mine reads "Sporter" for now, gotta make it go faster, right? :rollin

As you are into modding now, then a stage 2 tune is to lose the er so it reads "Sport" or just go for the full race setup and buy a Gti badge

Unfortunately "Sport" wouldn't align well with the holes. would need gluing on. :(
