Westie sink water pump

Post by Doppio »

Hello everyone,
My interior water pump for the sink has stopped working and has been proclaimed dead by a local mechanic. I'm on the hunt for a replacement one- can anyone recommend one- it seems the original is no longer made...
I believe the pump is the original- Handi Pump #5000 by Rand-Tek. Its a 12V, 1A and runs at 2 gallons per minute.

Many thanks,

Most probably needs a strip down and replacement brushes.

I have a Westy and the pump on that is a submersible in the water tank. I've just replaced mine with a Whale one from Amazon. 10 ltrs a min is all the pressure you'll need. I think it cost around £12

Shurflo is the go-to brand for an inline pump, at least it was when I lived on a narrowboat back in the carefree '80s.

Just bought one of these 'cause my old one failed. £12.90 so that's okay. Needed to get some pipe reducers to fit the original larger bore to the slightly smaller in/out on the pump. It works fine,

Are we going on anything else?

Thank you so much for your advice...there seems to be a huge disparity in prices, but think I'm going to stick with the inline pump. I found this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-12V-1A-Pow ... Sw74FXPZXH" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
which appears to match the spec....seems to be about as close as I can get to the outgoing one.

Thanks again.
