I have just bought a set of Porsche Boxster alloys; they came with adapters and a selection of bolts of different sizes! I have fitted them and they sit a little further out than I would like and the sliding door just touches the rim when fully open.
This is how they are set up:
Front - 20mm adapter + 7mm spacer + wheel ET 50 = total offset ET 23
Rear - 20mm adapter + wheel ET 40 = total offset ET 20
Ideally I would like to bring both front and rear wheels in a little and was hoping that I could get the rear adapters machined down to about 17-18mm and cut down the front hub grease cap to enable me to do away with the 7mm spacer.
Ending up with front offset = ET 30 and rear offset = ET 23
What i need help with!
1) What is the minimum adapter thickness that I can safely bolt wheels onto?
2) How do i get the hub grease caps off and do i just take a hack saw to them?
Any help or alternatives will be great!

Welcome
& just get some wheels that fit
Ideal offset is higher than you've got unless Oetinger racing stylee. but a few more cues as to tyre width etc may be neded to give a more informed answer

I have seen this on so many buses,,and the best solution I have come across is the extention bar that pushes the back of the sliding door away from the body,,needs cut and extended,,,seen it on a van at Santa pod at the weekend,,
