Gearshift mechanisms! Petrol, diesel, 4spd, 5 spd, high or low tunnel, 2wd or syncro.
There's always someone asking or trying to put a conversion right (self included)
Would need someone with plenty of loose bits to photograph, caption and clear up the confusion...and would be very well received.

Re: Topics required to be put in the T25 Tech Wikipedia
Theres a lot of g/c info in ther already... and pictures of bits.
Are you talking about converting from to other... or any to any, if so we'll have tio ask Aidan to write something up on what does and doesn't combine...

Re: Topics required to be put in the T25 Tech Wikipedia
A lot of the pics are syncro diesel, which isn't too useful if you're trying to work out which bits you need (or should have) when going from petrol to diesel in a 2wd (for instance)
What would be really helpful would be a side-by-side photo comparison of the various "short" and "long" parts for both petrol and diesel g/c and the critical dimensions to identify them by, so you don't go and buy the wrong one in haste. The subtle length difference between petrol and diesel shift levers (on the gearbox) springs to mind!
This would help a lot of folks who aren't a walking parts book
One for Aidan, as you say.

Re: Topics required to be put in the T25 Tech Wikipedia
Any chance of adding something to the "new owners" section about which oil to use for Aircooled, wbx and diesel engines? It'd make it easier and quicker to answer the re-occurring oil question in the tech forum?

Coolant level warning light flashing. After much pain, I've just fixed mine by replacing a brand new supposedly-good level sensor from Euro Car Parts with a VW-marked one from Brickwerks:

Re: Topics required to be put in the T25 Tech Wikipedia
Few bits to add to wiki, Not sure on where it is but there was an article my maxstu about setting geometry with a spirit level etc. I do a fair bit of suspension component replacement and lowering and i use one of these:
Can get them for under £10 posted. see here:
http://www.cromwell.co.uk/KEN5977500K
I set them up with that then drive em 10 miles to get them set up properly never been far off the mark. Might help someone.
Also in exhaust section bit written by covkid on using motorbike can and quietpack type header i've just ordered a '96 gsxr750 can and will let you know how it fits sounds etc.

Harry can you add a note to the link on the wiki stating to select 'older air heaters' in order to find the manuals?
Re: Topics required to be put in the T25 Tech Wikipedia

Re: Topics required to be put in the T25 Tech Wikipedia
Wheels and tyres:
Genuine South Africa 5-spoke wheels, as fitted to a 1995 2.6 Microbus c/w pas. They are 6 1/2" x 15", ET30, running 205/65/15 (load rated 94 from genuine SA spare) which come in nicely for std. rolling radius.
I have driven the bus without pas and it's probably about the limit (without bodybuilding to be like Popeye!)

You might want to put these pictures to show why you should take a magnet when looking over a van.
