Any recommended brands? Rattle can over brushing paint preferred.

Also interested. I've heard good things about spray hammerite (the paint of bodgers when I was a kid!)

I used an aerosol can of Frost Extreme Chassis Black in satin finish for ours. Quick and effective.

I buy it in 5l cans, use it for most steelwork contains zinc phospate for anti rust, brushes nicely or use it in the spray gun but they do aerosols as well.

I use Hammerite smooth and satin for various jobs, both readily available in aerosol. Tarts up a towbar well. Never used the Frost stuff, but I would expect it is good.

Hammerite isnt what it used to be, different solvents to the original stuff (that I became sensitized to after painting a flypress bench indoors in hot weather, horrendous headaches)

Thanks for the rec's.

Arc-rite chassis paint. Put the whole 400ml can on it after a thorough prep with 240 grit and some Hycote etch prime on the new metal additions.Image

Think I only paid around £40 to get mine blasted and powder coated.

I'm not a fan of powder coat tbh. Goes on too heavy and chips too easily.
This paint seems to have gone on nicely.

My powder coated wheels didn't last very well, though I'm not the best at keeping them clean.

Now how do they paint cement mixer drums??
