Re: The Trukkvagon is coming
Well got on well today as this sort of work is the nicest to do , fitted the other part of step in
first planishing
decided to braze through rather than migging as its nicer to do , wont ever rust and well I felt like it
im fairly happy with how it now looks from the underside
pity its hidden by sealant but it will protect it and a coat of dynax will finish it off
NS middle window after removing it the very very minor rust spots after blasting need work
same NS rear window
brazed the pin holes up as its easier on this sort of work , you can mig it but I feel thats a bit fierce and the brass is very quick, will never rust
same filed down
will just need a bit of primer and be fine.
the other larger hole I leaded and scraped back
a few more bits to remove and into paint tommorow.
Oh and main reason for painting all of it was not due to rot or rust but as half the panals had a minor issue and that the van vas in 3 maybe 4 different shades owing to past touchups that it was felt a nice coat all over would be fitting

Re: The Trukkvagon is coming
Well it wasnt that bad but if looked closer then there were one or 2 minor issues, lol
not much of interest to show or report, final stripping of exterior bits , doors and glass etc, a few dings here and there, but mainly half the body is original paint and being red its faded a bit so the van is like jacobs coat on very close inspection.
nothing wrong here
nor here save the faded paint and a ding or two
not much left of the van but a small shed full of bits
I kind of like it without stickers
I;ll stick a few pick up of the repaired areas as the paint goes on
mm
oh and to crown it all the rad on my golf snotter sprung a leak so of to my mates for a s/hand one after running the gauntlet
we missed th e wessex budgie and many other juicy bits

Re: The Trukkvagon is coming
Well. small job I nearly forgot, modify the doors for the very tasty lecky mirrors, you can just see the threads in the new hole I made,
other things are happening in there too but thats between me and ..........
will be colour coding the mirrors too, well no option really as these are met blue so even a colour co-ordinating oik like me couldnt live with that mix/clash.

Re: The Trukkvagon is coming
Ah well the trouble is theyre not crap they are very good infact ,yes they do need work to fit but we can live with that, the staining maybe a duff one or whatever but they are about the best thats out there so will live with it,
Now the van , the repairs and painting are always the easy bit its dealing with this
and
thers loads more such as the kithchen unit wardrobe seats doors carpet etc all to be cleaned and sorted, , ok thgere are a few bits in the pick that are not of it such as a spare tinted slider and a 1/4 someplace but most is off it, now ebay i wonder
