As some of you may be aware my rhd single cab was stolen and burnt out a few months ago so I am very interested in this one so if you wouldn't mind being kind and giving me a few pointers on how to work the auction that would be greatly appreciated

be there in person Angus probably the best way to win it and ensure that you have the funds available, chances are it will go for a bit more than the guide price - take it you got paid out on the burnt out truck, did you manage to salvage the running gear or did it get whipped away to a scrap yard and crushed which would have been such a waste ?

RHD Single cab + Tischer! up for grabs

It might be worth contacting the auctioneers to see whether it’s possible to make a pre-auction offer - if it is and the seller accepts then it would get withdrawn from the sale. Obviously any offer you make will be treated like a bid on the day of the auction, in that the auctioneer’s fees would be added on top of the agreed price.

You could be in for 1% of hammer price +vat, ok so its maybe another £200 or so if the estimate is correct

I'm going to try to be there to get it but I still think it might go out of my budget but i always wanted a demountable for mine so it's the perfect thing for me. Insurance still haven't paid out and the vans sat in a scrapyard getting worse and worse. Luckily there letting me have it back I just need to get them to up the payout as at the moment it's not enough considering the amount I spent on it etc

The truck is your property, not the insurers or the scrapyards, so demand that it is returned immediately.

As ian says, the pick up is your property until the insurance pays you out for it, until that time you are free to go and lift it.
It will be in a salvage yard to save it incurring storage fees. It will be categorized as a cat b breaker and sold for salvage eventually unless you have a salvage retention on you're policy.
Until you are paid it's yours!

I'm not surprised for a unique truck, if I was looking for one I'd have paid more !
