VW Steyr Puch Syncro Group

Postby irishkeet » 24 Nov 2019, 12:21

Hello

A few of us have set up a new Syncro facebook group, its an independent group with a few admins to share the load (rather than only the one) and its open to all. The plan is to build a friendly group to share information and eventually arrange some events.

About Blurb
"A friendly group for all those that appreciate the T3 Syncro & Steyr Puch range of 4x4 vehicles. A chilled place to chat, mingle, buy, sell, swap stories, share your knowledge, make friends, find lovers, post pictures and anything else as long as its VW Steyr Puch Syncro related. "

Any thoughts or questions please ask away

cheers

Could it be because *someone* wants to have complete and total unchallenged control of the entirety of all T3 syncro activity on fb and reasonable folk have finally had their fill of his antics?

Just a guess on my part.

Aidan a few of us have been chatting since Wales about an independent group with a few admins dotted around the country for arranging stuff, selling bits, sharing info etc etc etc

What was clear from the excellent greenlaning weekend that Lee & co arranged in Wales last year was that people didn't come because of various political reasons and it was not really advertised on 8090. So we wanted to try and fix that, I realise there is the Syncronauts page too and the yearly event. We are hoping with a new group to get something off the ground that is also open, friendly and welcoming to all and is advertised on 8090 and FB :ok

Well fb is becoming ubiquitous and the forum makeover/modernization won't necessarily address that shortcoming?

I use it now but try not to be used by it.

I hear what your saying clift_d, it seems that FB is great for organising and making contact with others quickly and easily where the forum is a great place to accessing solid information. Its quick and direct and (more or less) instant

I'm constantly amazed by the amount of people who have never heard of 8090 either before they buy or after they purchase a T3 and I am always directing people here.

If any events are arranged on the new SPS group they will be shared on 8090 too so everyone feels included.

Better than nothing I suppose, although it's a pity that people who aren't on FB miss out on potential parts, etc.

I'm certainly not planning on sharing the details of my life with Zuckerberg any time soon.

Same here, are we the last two people on the planet who dont?

But anyway Mr Keet, I for one appreciate your continuing information sharing back from FB to 80/90.
You make a wonderful double agent, thanks.
And thanks for the invite, feels like a gold embossed vellum, to my non faecebooking screen.
It hasn't gone un noticed by me that you are not just inviting through FB!

Parts wise I bought some parts recently from somebody (on 80/90), who advertised them on FB,
and somebody else (on FB) who knew I was looking for them alerted me personally.
These parts had been eBayed and FBooked without using 80/90 classifieds..
Its a small syncro world really, but its a sad thing that people here are sucked into FB world..

I do like the idea of mingling with the larger Steyr community too,
do love those Haflingers, and hear they go well with an old beetle engine in.

Sucker Borg is a pawn of the CIA, the history of how FB got set up is easy to show.
Unfortunately most peoples ideas about what is what, comes filtered through social media now,
or worse through Google, who just happen to know what you need to know,
because they know you so well, what you watch, where you go..

Ha! I'm more of a Pinz fan.

I think a nice 718K would go down a storm around Hackney and beyond...
