Ambulance Syncro height

Postby philyoung » 27 Oct 2019, 22:02

Sort of two questions really,

Does anybody know off hand the height of a factory syncro Dehler ambulance conversion? I know there aren’t many about.

Alternatively, what’s a good way to accurately measure van height - I’ve wobbled about on steps and can’t seem to get a consistent measurement..

I would suggest one of those long levels,
it should be possible to rest it on the high point of the roof,
and when its level, measure down from one end to the ground with a tape.
Maybe even single handed!

As above a long level - get it level and measure to the gutter, then add the distance from gutter to ground. It’ll be easier to split the measurement that way, rather than flapping around with a long tape measure at the top of a ladder.

"Schrader Typen Chronik" book lists Dehler Profi Hochdach 14" syncro at 2390mm, the 2wd is listed at 2360.
So that includes the sliding skylight, but whether that is higher than your green lights would need comparing to another example.
But it all depends on the fit-out and weight carried.

Thanks for the suggestions and info. I’ve got a long spirit level somewhere, will give it a try.
