Hello all. Does anyone know where or who has the das mule syncro? The guys there said it was sent to Scotland but no more info.

Thanks in advance.

Many thanks. I have messaged them.

I can’t seem to find bumpers that look that good anywhere. All the rest (go westy etc) seem to be very square and look like they are boxing something in instead of being part of the vehicle.

The last I heard it was up near Edinburgh at cocos customs. I spoke to colin last year he said one of his customers owns it.

The Das Mule front bumper does look good but I don’t think it was a bolt on job. It was built around a chopped crumple zone like Dai did.
I’m trying to come up with a nice looking front bumper, like you say the American ones look terrible.

Would chopping into the crumple zone be a problem if the bumper is beefy enough? I often wondered about the Australian or South African bumpers for land cruisers etc. Arb for example. They look good and could probably be made to fit.

I stopped my "projektzwolf" bumper project after I got worried about potential liability issues (crash worthiness, pedestrian and cyclist safety etc)
I could pick it up again, there is some part-worked materials for the rear bumper, laser cut end plates etc if anyone fancies a bit of diy

Also what is the reason for a hefty bumper? Is it for jacking / recovery / winch mount ?

I have incorporated these 3 functions direct into the crumple zone / chassi rails. For now i will be using just a standard bumper for aesthetics, with cut outs for the jacking tubes and receiver hitch.

I might stiffen up the standard bumper with a 3mm plate welded on the inside and maybe incorporate some steel end pieces to replace the plastic corners.

That is really neat. Would be good to see it with bumper on. It’s also to protect the front and rear of the truck a bit but mainly for aesthetics

The rear of any T3 is far more vunerable than the front, where there's far more structure in the cab area!
