Hi guys now that I sorted my Flat battery,
I have a quick question regarding my stainless exhaust.
It was a custom one which came when I bought the engine off Fritz (thanks Fritz - engine still going strong..touch wood)
Anyhow. The bracket that holds the silencer has snapped. Its happend a few times, Recent effort was with JP Weld. I have had the silencer patched up with Charlie at ProSpeed exhaust in Cardiff.
Before I take it to Charlie. any ideas on a possible fix. Bracket? Clamp?
Its blowing a bit as a previous repair is coming apart. New exhaust time??

JB weld? You really didn't expect that to hold it did you?
Straps around silencer to proper rubber mounts - you have too much vibration between the two parts to expect a rigid welded piece to last very long.

Re: Exhaust Advice....
Mine came with the straps when I had mine made! It isn't difficult to make a basic strap with a strip of steel/stainless steel.
What diameter is the silencer?

Re: Exhaust Advice....
That looks like an early speedshop, with the support bracket welded directly to the silencer. It was a recurring issue that this weld fractured or tore out of the silencer, and was redesigned with a wide stainless strap around the silencer instead. It still clamped around the pipe behind, but was under less tension and vibration due to the damping effect of the strap. Instead of a whole new exhaust you could ask Paul at Speedshop if he'll do you a new silencer and strap.

you make it sound easy...
diameter is around 20cm, though difficult to be sure with tailpipe in the way
