Are yours early or late control arms? Got this job ahead of me, with early arms. Getting the rods out looks somewhat difficult..

Actual early ones are easier as you can separate radius rod from control arm by undoing three bolts if l recall. On later the radius rod goes into rear of hub with one large 27mm welded nut, which means only open end spanner fits...unless you take control arm off with radius rod in situ.

Yes.. it's the condition of those three bolts that is the concern :-P

For yours though, a trolley jack under the end of the spanner would be my attack

Cheers slowcoach,
Nearside l used trolley jack method okay...This bugger is offside so has to come downwards.
Im taking out the control so this can go with to the vice. Clamp nut and try spinning hub.

Cheers Ben,

My welding's not good enough to solve this one though.
Local welding guy popping around tomorrow to view.

He reckons cutting out rust to good metal, then making plates front and back with correct angled hole.
Brickwerks sell a replacement end piece including mount hole for £60.00 a side.
Might have to bite the bullet.

In case it goes pear shape for you, l have a pair of early radius rods and control arms collecting dust.
Yours for a reasonable price if needed :ok
