Distributor for 2.1DJ with 2e3

Hi, I've had a search for this and can't find any other references, so here goes...

Currently running a late 1.9DG WBX and having a 2.1MV rebuilt with DJ pistons to run with my Pierburg 2E3 on a 120 jet.

I have the DG distributor but looking to upgrade to a DJ one.

I understand that 'N' suffix DJ distributors are hard to find but wondered if anyone has used one of these...

https://en.hoffmann-speedster.com/bus/b ... 2.1-wbx-dj" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Are they any good and is it worth spending £250 on over the serviceable DG one?

Thanks,

Jim

As you are going carb I would try running with DG dizzy first. Likely timing marks on crank pulley will be out when setting timing with a strobe though. Setting by ear and tick over will be close enough to start with.

I have an N suffix distributor spare.
It's for sale.

I am running a DJ engine with a 2E3 and the DG dizzy. It runs great no problems . The advance curves are so similar overall taking vacuum and centrifugal into account that it really is no problem. I have no Pinking on Petrol or LPG and pretty sprightly acceleration for an Auto. As for the rejetting , I havent bothered on mine seems to run OK in the right parts of the mixture gauge. I run on LPG most of the time. The petrol still gives slightly more power but now with the Blos on Gas it is not really noticeable.
My timing is set at 12btdc vac disconnected and I run on super unleaded when not on lpg.

As much as I want the best performance that I can get, I’m paranoid about melting a piston due to preignition so want to do everything I can to ensure I get optimal ignition.

I’m not planning to run LPG but will probably run super unleaded.

I have now covered about 40000 miles with this set up and have absolutely no melted pistons or burnt valves. Just an oil leak round the dipstick tube!!!!
