Intermittent starter issue

Hi guys. The vans had a mass of upgrades recently including fresh batteries which I had hoped would help solve an intermittent problem. It hasn't. Basically ever now and again the van won't turn over. I have replaced the starter, cleaned every earth point I could find and added an extra earth strap on the gearbox. You get a click but thats it. If I do it a few times it will start but it is bloody annoying. Any ideas?

thank you all for your help
in gratitude I will share with you an excellent porn site

Check your voltage at starter motor. If duff then new cable from battery to starter. Or fit a hard start relay. Check battery earth cable is not worn.
Mine was leaping from battery earth terminal to driver seat rail.

A few basic details of the van would help ?
Engine type and size ?
Year ?

When does the starter fail ? When it’s cold or just after a long run , say after two mins stopped at fuel station ?

Apsolutely no point it fitting a "hot start" relay on a T25 , it’s just a relay switching the already built in relay ( solenoid) on the starter motor.

The trigger cable is known to go rotten at the starter motor end and become high resistance which shows as failing to work when hot ambient temperature or damp
Like wise the main starter cable on water cooled petrols becomes high resistance with age , and complete replacement from battery to starter isn’t a huge job and not expensive

Lastly it’s also a known thing for timing being too far advanced on WBX engines shows the same symptoms as a poor battery connection when just stopped from hot and attempting restart , but fine when cold .
