Or you have an intermittent charging problem, I'd check the earth connectionso if you haven't already done so.

As above this should be easy enough if replaced relatively recently, just be careful with the thermostat housing as these are obsolete now.

Ah, thought it was, mine would originally have had one of those fitted, very nice. Mine has a high top which was fitted when I bought it, I do like the headroom and dry storage though.

I wanted to replace both of mine but could only find doors with similar rust issues at the time. I ended up replacing the lower outer skins on both and rebuilding the lower part where the water sits above the wheel arch on one. It could be your fuel system especially your fuel filter, a clogged filter can cause random stalls and unable to restart. There should be only one filter just after the tank underneath, some add a second in the engine bay but this is a fire risk and should be removed. There's also a cone filter in t...

Sounds like a bad experience whilst learning to weld!! Pretty glad I learnt to do it, saved a lot of money and kept my van on the road. Agree it's not for everyone but it's definitely a handy thing to be able to do when owning an old vehicle
