Re: reversing sensors

Has anyone fitted revering sensors to their camper? As mine is very old 1980 I have to switch a switch on the dash to put the revering lights on but I would like sensors fitted so I can reverse safely at times when its difficult to see. "Very old 1980"? :D Jeez, even Bay windows had rever...

Re: Open rear door from inside.

This is a neat solution for a homemade release - also a good idea having a handle to pull the hatch closed from the inside too!

Re: Open rear door from inside.

At last I did it. I have been puzzling over this for a couple of years. I wanted to be able to open the rear door in an emergency. First I extended the lever on the lock mechanism then I used a piece of bicycle brake cable and fixed it to the rear door panel with a loop at the end. When the loop is...

I'd go with Limo Tint or Solid Vinyl - cheap as you like and a lot less faff!

Re: Antifreeze

You're replacing the engine in a couple of weeks? Leave it - it's not worth the expense of yet more antifreeze

Re: Reliable Starter Motor

At the time (summer 2013) I tried EVERYONE! I'm lucky to have ECP within walking distance too All the suppliers that listed them as 'in stock' then turned down the order and refunded. I even contacted Bosch directly... I can't remember the price I paid for the refurb unfortunately but after the hass...

Re: Reliable Starter Motor

When I had starter motor issues on my 2.1 Auto I had real trouble locating a replacement. Companies woud list them and take orders then a few days later return my money saying the part os unavailable. One company came up trumps but the motor didn'tphysically fit without fouling the trottle linkage. ...

Re: Wheel arch replacement?

Replaced mine with a cut off a repair panel. Didn't want to ruin decent thick metal for no reason. No need to take the fuel tank out though just be sensible about protection for it - if it were petrol yes remove it. 'Sensible about protection' would be removing the tank as it's not the petrol that'...

Re: Fitting window scrapers

:) Yeah they're quite pricey, but it's work noting that inners and outers are the same part so, if you want, you can swap the inner driver's side to the outer passenger side etc. As the inners tend to age less you can therefore save half the cost of a complete set

It's probably the easiest job you'll ever do - you'll be done in 10minutes and left wondering why you left it so long. Ask me how I know...

Re: Oil Light NOT flashing at start-up

Thanks all, I've been on holiday since posting so I've only just around to taking a look. I've had a quick wiggle of the wires at the Oil Pressure Switch which seemed to fix the issue... until the next time it was started up. It could've also been a coincidence since leaving the key in position one ...
