Timber technicians sell a hi top which will make your van a four birth. It looks like a emc style roof. Not very expensive either.that way you get to keep your van which is a known entity.

dells will increase your mpg. once choke per cylinder allows for a far more precisely tuned motor. with the extra horses gained you wont be having to floor it everywhere / drop down the box on inclines etc

I'd buy a vagcom lead and download the software, you can reset all sorts and reads the fault codes, Cheap on ebay

do not drive it! id change all fuel lines starting at the tank outlet to the carb via the pump. then start looking at tank breather pipes too.

The lambda still goes in the exhaust even if its decatted hence a dicky lambda can cause these issues.

look at the lambda. you can bypass it to revert to a default map, see if that's any better
