Re: 1984 conundrum
Holy thread revival!! I’ve got a 1984 ‘Early’ 1.9 DG and my heating circuit is not getting 12v on start up. I tested this with a light pen on the red 2.5mm wire. I’ve tested relay 1 in the EJCB which checks out ok, which leads me to think it’s a faulty thermoswitch. I believe the relay is powered by...

Re: Misfiring
Holy thread revival! The symptoms you’re suffering from sound very similar to mine. Did you manage to cure it?

Re: First time camper owner!
I haven't updated this thread in so long so I thought I'd post a update. Flo's had a load of work done... The captain seats have been re-upholstered by Lallaway auto upholstery. We're really chuffed https://i.ibb.co/VqtHS19/IMG-3237.jpg 2. The engines had a full service and the coolant system has ...

Re: First time camper owner!
Pretty sure that pipe goes to the heat exchanger on the exhaust on the right hand side. But if you have an aftermarket exhaust it won't matter. The "bolts" for the oil tower are meant to stay there, they all should be studs which just have a nut and couple of washers holding the breather ...

Re: First time camper owner!
Hi everyone! I noticed recently that my oil pressure light isn’t working. I believe the red LED should illuminate with ignition and turn off once the engine is running (providing there’s sufficient oil pressure.) I would like this system working for obvious reasons so I’m trying to figure out what ...

Re: First time camper owner!
Edward Butler Vinters Ltd. I've not been able to find much information about them online but I'm interested to know what area of business they were in. What did Flo used to haul about? The clue is in the name! It tells you the business. OMG, why didn’t I see that? . That’s so awesome, mak...

V888 'Subject Access Request' response
7 weeks after submitting my subject access request (SAR) to DVLA via a v888 form I received a response. I requested information of previous keepers and anything in relation to change of vehicle body type from 'Panel van' to 'Motor campervan'. I've been sent the following: Original 'Application for a...

Re: Wiring for stereo
I've installed a JVC X-561DBT mechless stereo (£123) which fits perfectly in the limited space. It provides all the required modern features I wanted, such as: USB charging + audio (iPod/iPhone etc) Bluetooth streaming + Handsfree DAB+ FM/AM Minimal appearance and good UI So many single-din units ...

Re: First time camper owner!
So I caved and bought some captain seats for Flo:
They’ve come from a early T4 Caravelle so should fit right in. I’ll be getting them reupholstered as they’re a bit tired as you can see

Re: First time camper owner!
I've completed the first 'non-essential' job which was to replace the awful FM/CD head unit the van came with. Due to the limited space behind the dash it just didn't fit properly and the FM reception was non-existent :x . The single-din head unit market is really odd as the vast majority look 'bo...
