If you could add some welded on tangs to the rear edge of the body of the box, could they then be slotted into the luggage strap cleats from below as you insert the box into the carrier. This would provide a secured rear edge and then maybe something similar on the front so once the box is inserted...

I have a 1720 peli case too. It's very useful. We had 46kgs of spares and tools in it when we went to Morroco. Weight limit up there is 50kgs. Your design looks like it will be bigger and less noisy. Westy roof box.
Im working on a bespoke roof box to fit in the westy luggage tray. Early stage CAD models...just to show the idea. I have a few good 12 volt mini batteries Kev.....from burglar alarm systems...brand new if you want one.
Would your plan be to take it out and recharge it every couple of weeks ?

I do have a shock sensor too......might try it without that connected and remeasure.

It was the tracker....
0.14 to 0.15 with it connected.
Zero with it disconnected.
Any ideas as to why its that thirsty......that is with a flat tracker battery though....

Too much rain to look properly....but this is what happened in the 10 mins i was out there Mm on batery side ....stabilised for a few mins now reads 0.15 to 0.16 when set to 10 amps dc. Taking out the radio fuse drops it to 0.13. Turning the radio on ...with the fuse back in and it goes up to 0.7 Im...
