Re: Crisis may be looming?

Could be the green head gaskets in the head. My best guess. Hopefully just a failed clip. The expansion clips are far better than jubilee clips as they expand and retract with the hoses warming and cooling. Get some. Jubilee clips don’t expand and thus bite into hoses and split them. https://uploads...

Re: 1.9DG to 2.1DJ engine swap

It’s a noticeable improvement both in torque and speed. What were slow 65mph motorway journeys with second thoughts about over taking lorries becomes a care free pleasurable experience. Like it should be.

I took my 2.1 MV to 95mph & a DJ has more horses.

Re: 1.9DG to 2.1DJ engine swap

Yes, the DJ will run on a Pierburg 2E3 too. Just need to add the oil warmer/cooler. All the other accessories from the DG, just put them back in. Air filter, air intake, it’s all the same. Don’t need the ECU if you’re not adding fuel injection. A 4-spanner difficulty upgrade.

Re: Rear Wheel Bearing Type

Take it for a 30 min run before you go in.

1, the bearings will heat up & expand and won’t wobble so much

2, your emissions won’t be rich either as you’ll be fully off choke.

Re: Heavy Duty PVC Tonneau Cover for Singlecab Pick Up

HaHa!

Yeah - they are very expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Any other ideas, what are people using?

What do you use for the support bars too? Bit of box aluminium?

Carburettor Problems

If the choke flap is fully open when warm, you can then unscrew the jets and give them a clean. Once you’ve done the above checks first. Definitely air or fuel issue, not ignition so don’t mess with the dizzy coil or spark plugs. In my experience it’s 90% air/fuel not electrical. Coln Engineering wi...

Re: Running rough after sitting for 3 months

Just let it run for 30 mins at idle, get it hot. The tappets just need some oil and it’ll settle. Then give it a good run, it’ll be ok.

Re: No output from Alternator to rev counter

My rev counter is fed from the negative pin on the coil. Not sure what the alternator has to with that signal. Could be a workaround for you though.
