It took ...

Re: battery light on, oil light flashing, won't turn

It's not been on charge no, it is a new battery this year. The vehicle is immobilised via a key-type cut-off switch if I'm not going to be using the van for a while. It could be my technical incompetence in testing it. Here's what I did - I just turned the cut-off switch on and then switched my mult...

Re: battery light on, oil light flashing, won't turn

Hi all, thanks for the replies. Got the multi-meter out this morning to test the vehicle battery and it was reading 13.04V across the terminals with the ignition off so as far as I understand it there's nothing wrong with the battery :?: I've hooked it up to a smart charger for the day anyway just t...

battery light on, oil light flashing, won't turn

Hi all - Just went out to start the engine as I've been really busy and haven't run it for a few weeks  and was planning on taking the van out for a run to work tomorrow... a nice 60 mile round trip to clear away any cobwebs before CamperJam next weekend. Anyway, to the point... When I turned ...

Re: lumpy running disappears if I stop for 5mins and restart

I try and do as much as I can... Learning as I go. So far I have changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and all the vacuum hoses. Replaced the blower and drained, flushed and replaced the coolant... All with correct parts. I've always wanted to learn to weld too so bought myself a weld...

lumpy running disappears if I stop for 5mins and restart

OK, so, when I start up from cold and go for a drive there's a problem I can only describe as "lumpy running" once it gets warm, jerky acceleration (feels a bit like a misfire), or cruising along nicely at 60-65mph and suddenly starts to slow a little and then "clears" and goes n...

Re: Burgundy Decals for autosleeper trident

The burgundy isn't a sticker so far as I can tell as my 1990 Autosleeper has the following paint codes for the white and burgundy. - R1R1 Pastel White (L90D) (Pastellweiss) - British Leyland Damson Red (BLVC 211) I got this info from http://www.autosleeper.vwt25camper.info/html/vw_t3_autosleeper_vht...

Thanks guys. I've now got the dash out so will check / fix everything you've mentioned.
Have to admit to not doing a very thorough search of previous posts on this occasion. Sorry

dash out to replace blower - what else should i do?

As it says in the subject - I'm taking the dash out to replace the blower motor... what other jobs / preventative maintenance should I be looking to do whilst the dash is out???
Thanks in advance...
