Bio-diesel has some of the same oxidising effects on fuel hoses as ethanol does - hose that's 100% ethanol proof will generally also be suitable for bio-diesel, or bio-diesel-ethanol blends.

Make sure you buy hose that is 100% Ethanol compatible, like the stuff that Brickwerks sell, or something like Gates Barricade. If you buy generic SAE 30R9 or SAE 30R14 specification hose, that only ensures that it's rated for 5% (E5) ethanol content - the good manufacturers make their fuel hose so ...

You’ve got to remember that a lot of people, myself included, join this forum before they actually buy a van. It was a few weeks after purchasing before I knew what oil to use, or where the screen wash filler is.

In that case, I'm afraid I think this is probably one of the 0.01% - the battery was still getting charge but it was boiling off the electrolyte.
