Van started fine yesterday morning, but after running for 2 or 3 minutes started to stutter , I took her out and normal driving didn't seem to be a problem, but went the petrol station and she wouldn't start , just kept turning over, but then eventually started, but when revving there is a bit of bl...

Re: Solar and split charging
Thanks for the reply, I probably will disconnect myself when I get another panel. When I put another panel on do the wires just go Into the controller as normal.

Solar and split charging
Might seem like a daft question but how does a solar panel and split charging system work together. I have had a split charger fitted to my van for a few years and it works very well. Yesterday I fitted a solar panel on the roof and was wondering how they both work in conjunction with each other. Th...

Re: Gearbox gone.
It's an automatic gearbox that goes into gear ok and sets off ok but won't drop into 3 rd gear?.
Does anyone know why this has happened just out of the blue.
It's ran perfect and never missed a beat until now.

Feel gutted just set off on holiday for the weekend , going to VW show at Uttoxeter and my auto gearbox has just packed up. So I had to limp home with a packed van and 3 rather upset grandkids and of course the good lady wife.
This is a good start to my 2 weeks holiday.....

Re: Autobox fault ?
No not changed the filter. Am going to change it this week.
Hope it's not the box rob as supposed to be going on a holiday next week on a bit of a tour .
Fingers crossed . I don't think you can get the boxes fixed . ?. Secondhand or manual conversion.

I hope I am wrong , as We are supposed to be going on a 2 week jaunt the week after next. My van is a 2.1 Dj automatic. Today whilst driving it seemed to change down then back up again on a straight road whilst under no load. Late on when I came to back onto my drive it really clunked when going int...

Starter earth
Been replacing some of the old earth straps and don't know why but I thought that the starter should have an earth from the body/ bolts to the chassis ?. Am I right or wrong. ? .starts perfect ( touch wood ) except if it's really hot when on a run and then it's slightly lazy but only for a split sec...
