It is only my personal view but I would never use underseal. If it were me I would paint it with red oxide primer from Wilco, then paint it any colour you want (Probably black).

Re: Water in tailgate
I sympathise with you, Triggermala. I have exactly the same problem and assumed it was the window seals. I will check all the seals and badges, as Sarran suggests, when I get the van back from the Garage (Failed CT (MOT)).

Re: Gas Level Indicator
I don't carry a spare either. There are plenty of outlets where I can get a refill, but as an emergency I have a small portable that uses aerosol cans to see me through.

Re: Gas Level Indicator
I believe I'm right when I say the magnetic ones indicate a temperature difference between the cooler lower liquid gas layer and the warmer gas layer. The best way is to weigh the cylinder and take the result off the gross weight at full to give a total gas remaining weight. I think that is right. I...

Re: Windows - Rust Dribbles
I used black Sikaflex piping it into the seal before fitting the seal and window into the opening. It was messy I recall but we didn’t have any leaks even though the surrounds beneath the seals weren’t exactly perfect to say the least. I used Evo Stick 'Roof and Gutter' on my Morris Traveller. It...

Re: Windscreen wipers
Have you bought expensive wiper blades? My partner's Hyundai Kona was the same. It smudged on the drivers side on the downward stroke. I tried the best and expensive Bosh wipers and they were the same. I concluded that the better wipers were too stiff and the centre of the wiper applied little press...

It could be the clutch friction pads or possibly the brake pads/ shoes stuck on. Hard to tell from here.

Re: Regular E5 Petrol No Longer Available from September
We live in France and have used E10 for some time. The only problem as far as I can see is that E10 rots some rubber or plastic parts. The engine will run the same until some part or other rots away, such as fuel lines or carburettor floats. Both can be changed for E10 proof replacements. I have rep...

Re: Greasy appearance on interior of glass
Thanks I wonder if previously the dash/dashes had been sprayed with cleaner which has somehow contaminated the inside of the windscreen. I don't use that stuff but previous owners may have. That is my theory. We bought the car second hand. I recon the dealers may have been over zealous with the da...

Re: Greasy appearance on interior of glass
My wife's Hyundai Kona suffered badly with just the thing you describe. I tried wet wipes, vinegar, meths and even shaving foam. Nothing shifted it. In the end, and out of desperation, I used clean dry wipes and rubbed the screen in small areas really hard. Bit by bit I successfully removed the film...

Re: Temperamental Starter Motor
Try cleaning the battery connections. If they are slightly corroded they won't let enough current through to turn the starter.

Re: What a difference a gearbox oil change makes
Thanks for that. I have never checked my gearbox oil in the ten years I have owned the van so I guess it is well overdue. I will put it on the Urgent to Do list.
What oil did you use?

I spray/paint Waxoil under my van. I do not like underseal as it tends to dry out and rust underneath. But that is just my preference. I have done the same to my Morris Traveller that I have owned for forty years.

Re: Battery or Alternator trouble?
Difficult to say for sure, but I would suspect the battery. You could take the battery to a garage who can do a drop test on it and give you a good idea of its condition.

Re: Stripped Pressure Switch Port
It is difficult to say. My opinion is 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Keep an eye on it, but if it gives you concerns then investigate further.
