Re: Upper ball joint removal - tricky or not?!

splitter !!.jpg So I got hold of larger splitter..... This balljoint must be seriously seized - I was winding the bolt on the splitter with a scaffold pole! There was some serious load on so not surprised it gave up.... I'm thinking the only way forward to this is to get the knuckle off (was trying...

Re: Upper ball joint removal - tricky or not?!

Use of a scissor splitter avoids all this sort of fiasco. The fork goes over the top of the upright and the jaw bears on the end of the thread (leave the nut on to save it leaping out and denting things) Those drive-in fork types are antique sh1te. Bought this earlier from Machine Mart... https://w...

I think i may have lifted a couple of mm with the fork but not sure. Also boug...

Re: Upper ball joint removal - tricky or not?!

Good vid.

Is there any reason why you cant 'persuade' the ball joint out with a hammer from below if replacing it? :?:

How big a can of worms?!! Trailing Arm!

rusted out resize.jpg So I'm fitting new Bilsteins and springs to the ol' gal - drop out the old spring and realise the trailing arm may be a little more rusted out than originally thought! I've ordered a couple of repair sections from Brickwerks already and now contemplating a full trailing arm of...

I was aware of this problem but assumed that it was a faulty push as it is loose when in position in the wheel and the the two metal connectors (within the push) are also loose.

Where can I buy a new horn push anyone?!

OK - I've had a reet good trawl around for a replacement horn push on the steering wheel with no joy (standard rectangular one).

Rather than get hold of a replacement steering wheel anyone know of a supplier other than the usual suspects (Brickwerks, Just Kampers etc)??

Cheers
