Good news Patrick. Well done for persevering.
Mine is booked for Tuesday - let's hope we both sail through!

AGG Engine Conversion - Information & Assistance
Hi Folks, A lot of the interest in this conversion arose from the reports I posted here after doing my conversion nearly 10 years ago. At that time I offered to email out a batch of documents I had created during my conversion which included details like the engine wiring, etc. I am still receiving ...

Re: Pop-Top Rubber Seal - Sticking to van roof
Thanks for your thoughts, guys. Cleaning the rubber - will only have been water or perhaps a weak mix of car shampoo. Tissue paper - yes probably worth a try to detect any obvious 'gunk'. The edge rubbers are about four years old. The pop top was built in 2015 and first used during the August Bank H...

Pop-Top Rubber Seal - Sticking to van roof
Hi, can anyone offer any proven techniques to prevent the rubber seal around the pop-top from sticking to the van roof when it is not opened for a few weeks? Mine has occasionally been so well stuck that it pulls off the edge of the pop-top instead of lifting with it. I have tried cleaning both the ...

Re: Reupholstered seats
I fitted a new cushion into the seat squab of one front 'captains' seat - mainly because the previous owner had broken the door side 'wing' of the cushion, presumably by repeatedly turning and sliding over the edge to drop out the door. Yes, it makes a difference, providing better support. I ended u...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
Right, we connected up the dash this morning and tested everything. All fine except that the DOPS/B of D sounded above 2krpm! It is just possible that this was happening before but I have had a tiny piece of card between the oscillating contacts to 'silence' it for some time (since I had a cable sna...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
OK I have sorted the clock polarity - by the simple (once remembered!) method of using a multi-meter on the foil PCB. Once I'd overcome the issue of a broken track just back from the edge connector section I was able to detect links from the clock plug to pins 3 (ground) & 5 (clock). So, looking...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
My son & I have been assembling our unit today and have a couple of questions for those who have built these units for late diesel dash's. (Those with tachometers and DOPS) We have found that the three wire ribbon (red, orange, brown) for the tachometer connection is too short to reach the screw...

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
Hi Chris,
I've not got around to building my kit yet. Hope to do it over Christmas when my (electrical engineer) son is at home with his tools (small soldering iron, etc)
I wondered whether there has been any updates of the instruction booklet since it was first posted online?
thanks
Gary

Removing Sliding Door
OK - memory is failing me. I seem to recall reading that there is a way to remove the (late type, 1990) sliding door without dismantling everything. I think it was a case of remove the waist track cover panel and the rubber bump stop at the back of the bottom track. This should let the door to open ...

Re: Adjusting the sliding door
I found a lot of wear in the two pivots at either end of the 'U' bar. I think I added washers at the top of the roller side of the 'U' bar and the bottom of the door side to maximise lift. I don't think that new bushes are available.

Re: Brake & Clutch Pedal refurb
During the summer and all the other things getting higher priority, this job has grown to include refurb'ing the heater as well - fan is squeaking, one fan speed is failing intermittently, etc. Now that Brickwerks have the heater foam kits back in stock I can order all the bits I want. My brake peda...
